Contact us
From small beginnings, and over nearly thirty years, some core values have emerged. As the New Zealand team has developed a relationship with the Indian/Nepali team, we have formed common goals:
- networking with the local people and using their strengths within their own communities
- aiming to invest in people, not programmes
- using resources that indigenous people have but empowered by sponsors’ support.
In New Zealand, we aim to do the same to promote this vital work. Therefore, we work on a voluntary basis, with no paid staff or administration costs. Costs that are incurred are paid for by sponsors – either individuals or businesses. Every dollar that is given goes to the people in need. The impact is magnified because a New Zealand dollar is worth many rupees; for example, it costs just NZ$200 for a child’s private schooling for one year.
The core team in New Zealand is made up of an extraordinary group of very ordinary people, going about their everyday lives – working, running businesses and raising families. No one is interested in promoting themselves. Kiwis for the Himalayas is like a large family, anybody who wishes to become a part of this team or to find out more about what we do is welcome to contact us by entering details below, or send us an email at contact@kiwisforhimalayas.org.nz
